Working Together Countywide

The Gloucestershire Assembly Team

The Gloucestershire Assembly Team builds and supports voluntary and community sector involvement in partnership working across Gloucestershire. At present the Project is focusing on developing the following three key areas:

1. The Gloucestershire Assembly for the Voluntary and Community Sector
The Assembly was established in 2003 and works to provide the sector with a countywide strategic voice and promote networking between the diverse range of groups that make up the sector. Any voluntary or community group in the county is automatically considered to be a member of this Assembly and is welcome to participate in events and consultations.

2. Voluntary and Community Sector Representation on the Gloucestershire Local Area Agreement (LAA)
Michael Heap, Chair of the Voluntary and Community Sector Assembly represents the VCS on the Local Area Agreement Project Board and Zahid Dar, from Partnership and Participation Project will be representing the VCS on the Project Team and coordinating VCS input across the thematic blocks.

3. The Gloucestershire Compact
The Gloucestershire Compact forms an agreement between the public and voluntary and community sectors to support better partnership working across the county, and was launched in May 2004. The Project acts as the secretariat for the multi-sector Compact Group which is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of this Compact and its Codes of Good Practice.
