Gloucester Volunteer Centre assists voluntary organisations to set up, manage and evaluate their own volunteer programmes. The volunteers’ time and abilities can then be a valuable resource so that the organisation can achieve maximum efficiency. The Volunteer Centre is also the place to attract the volunteers with the skills and enthusiasm needed for your project.
Use the links on the left to visit our other pages for more information for potential volunteers and for organisations looking for volunteers.

GAVCA has recently achieved two awards from Volunteering England in recognition of the work of the Gloucester Volunteer Centre: Investing in Volunteers and Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation.
Vetting and Barring for Volunteers
The Independent Safeguarding Authority has created a series of downloadable posters, inserts and email templates, to help explain the new vetting and barring scheme, which comes into force next year.
These resources are free to download from the Independent Safeguarding Authority website - scroll down to the bottom of the page to find resources tailored to volunteers.

Volunteer by Text
Eye-catching advertising, featuring real-life volunteers, will adorn every Stagecoach bus in the county, from this week in a bid to increase volunteer numbers. The adverts will also encourage passengers to text VOLUNTEER to 80010 to find out more about volunteering in their local area.
Photographs of volunteers were taken by the Snapper photographic team. The county is on track to hit its LAA volunteering stretch target in April 2010 and the bus advertising campaign is the latest marketing initiative being planned to encourage more volunteers.
