Support Groups

The Organisational Development Teams maintain several support groups for people involved in managing and directing voluntary and community organisations.

Managers’ Support Group

This group meets quarterly to discuss issues for managers of paid staff within the voluntary sector. Anyone with responsibility for paid staff is welcome to attend and this group is open to all within the Voluntary and Community Sector organisations in the County, although if numbers become too great, priority will be given to managers based in Gloucester City. Issues to date include:

tricky employment law situations
pay structures and job evaluation schemes
role of trustees
human resources support and advice
isolation of managers
management of absence
funding and bidding

Finance Officers' Support Group

Are you a Finance Officer in a voluntary or community sector organisation?

Do you have responsibility for financial management as part of your job description?

If so, it may be that you do not feel that you have the training, resources or support to carry out your duties. With increasing regulation and stringent audit requirements, maybe you are feeling swamped with information and responsibility?

Or maybe you are a trustee who has taken on the role of the treasurer?
