GAVCA

Down to Business is a new GAVCA project funded by the Performance Reward Grant for one year until November 2012 and headed up by Shelley Bartlett. The project aims to support the sustainability of the voluntary and community sector through building greater understanding and developing partnerships between it and the private sector.

Collaboration is really at the heart of this project. Through various offerings we will support both sectors in understanding and recognizing the strengths that each has. This understanding and recognition represents the foundations for developing strong and sustainable partnerships. It is anticipated that these partnerships, if developed and brokered carefully, can lead to the transfer of needed skills, experience and knowledge, as well greater learning and development opportunities, increased volunteering support and of course income diversification.
