GAVCA Countywide
The Gloucestershire Assembly Team builds and supports voluntary and community sector involvement in partnership working across Gloucestershire. At present the Assembly Team is focusing on developing the following three key areas:
The Assembly was established in 2003 and works to provide the sector with a county-wide strategic voice and to promote networking between the diverse range of groups that make up the sector. Any voluntary or community group in the county is automatically considered to be a member of this Assembly and is welcome to participate in events and consultations.
The Assembly Team has been representing the Voluntary and Community Sector on the LAA Project Board and co-ordinating VCS input across the thematic blocks.
The Gloucestershire Compact, launched in May 2004, forms an agreement between the public and voluntary and community sectors to support better partnership working across the county. The Project acts as the secretariat for the multi-sector Compact Steering Group which is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of this Compact and its Codes of Good Practice.
