Gloucestershire Young Carers: Referral Worker

Contract: Fixed Term – 9 months. 
Hours:  18.5 hours
Salary:  £22,845 pro rata plus essential car user allowance.
Closing Date:  Friday, 27 August 2010.
Interview Date: Tuesday 7 September 2010.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant organisation at the forefront of developing support services with and for young carers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking referrals and undertaking contact visits with young carers and their families in order to identify their support needs and link them in to appropriate services. They will be expected to work in partnership with other agencies to ensure a multi-agency approach.

We are looking for an experienced professional with proven ability in communicating sensitively with children, young people and their families.  You will hold a relevant qualification within Social Care, Education, Health, Youth and Community or the Voluntary Sector (minimum NVQ 3 or equivalent). Hours are flexible but availability out of school hours is essential.

Artiephartie: Adult Education Tutor

Contract: Freelance
Salary: £20 an hour whilst teaching
Location: Gloucestershire wide (Gloucester initially)

Artiephartie is looking for an experienced and qualified adult education tutor who is interested in teaching confidence, dealing with anger and assertiveness using an art form in the teaching methods.
Step Up is a highly successful course already being taught county wide. The scheme of work and session plans are in place and the tutor would work alongside our Director who is currently delivering this course and unable to keep up with demand.

Work is on a freelance rate and of no fixed hours. Pay will be £20 an hour. Provision initially needed on Fridays but thereafter hours could be agreed with the Director to suit the successful candidate.

Allsorts Youth Club: Part time Youth Worker Leader-In-Charge

Session Times:  Alternate Saturdays 1.00 – 6.00pm plus 3 hours Session Planning
Contract: Fixed Term Contract, renewable in April subject to funding.

Allsorts is a Stroud based charity that supports children with additional needs and their families with a range of services. 

We are looking for someone to run our new Allsorts Youth Club for young people with additional needs from 11 – 19 years old. The youth club was set up in Feb 2010 as a pilot, and we now need someone to take it forward into its new phase.

Gloucestershire Credit Union: Business Manager

Salary: £25,000 per annum pro rata

Contract: This is a 6 month contract.

Can you deliver a countywide credit union for Gloucestershire? We need an inspirational and driven business manager to make our project happen — setting up a new countywide credit union.

In these troubled times it is more important now than it has ever been that all the people of Gloucestershire have access to financial resources and expertise that they can trust to help them to look after themselves and their families.

The challenge is to transform the existing Gloucester City Credit Union into a viable Gloucestershire wide Credit Union. This will involve helping the existing credit union to expand and deliver their operations to be able to deliver services across the county, bring together a network of partners to provide support to the credit union and provide to support to an emerging strategic board.

We are offering an initial six months contract — hosted and managed by Co- operative Futures —  for a person who can convince us that they have the right expertise, energy, enthusiasm and work ethic.

This contract has a salary of £I2,000 and is available for a successful applicant. You may wish to work on a flexible basis, on a self-employed, output-related basis, or on a secondment agreed with your current employer.

Gloucestershire Association for Voluntary and Community Action (GAVCA) require a Volunteering Services Manager
