UPDATE: Integrated Youth Offer

In response to the new political and financial landscape, Gloucestershire County Council has decided to pause on the process for allocating Integrated Youth Offer funding. This is to allow a reassessment of GCC budgets in light of the need to make considerable savings in this financial year.

Please do not submit applications for the Integrated Youth Offer until the financial situation is clearer.

GCC fully appreciates that many voluntary and community organisations will be well down the path of completing your applications and that this delay will be very disappointing. They also realise that, if your application was for summer holiday activities, it may not be possible to deliver these.

Further updates will be posted as soon as they become available, hopefully before the end of June 2010. Queries can be addressed to Nicky Day from Sustainable Communities and Housing.

August 2010

Submissions required to set up weekend clubs for disabled young people – deadline 16 August
The Short Breaks Pathfinder Team at Gloucestershire County Council is now seeking submissions from agencies interested in setting up and running fortnightly clubs for disabled young people on Saturdays or Sundays throughout the year, starting in the autumn of 2010. The successful providers will need to supplement county council funding by raising external funds themselves to ensure the sustainability of each club. Due to current budget uncertainties we are unclear as to the amount of money that will be available from the council to subsidise each club, but it is our intention to provide both finance and staff support in developing this network. As soon as funding levels are known, we will add that information to the website.

We are keen that interested agencies should work together to pool their experience so that we receive the strongest possible cooperative bids for the benefit of disabled young people. We are seeking enthusiasts, with and without experience of working with disabled young people, to talk to one another and put together compelling submissions. These clubs will form one of the strands of our new ‘Of Course We Can’ programme, providing exciting opportunities for disabled children and young people across the county.

For full details of specification, supporting documents and application form, please visit the GCC website.

Any enquiries should be addressed to Philip Douch – 01452 427144 or philip.douch@gloucestershire.gov.uk
