- Business Planning (a two-day course): Sue Webber

This two-day course is aimed at paid staff, trustees/management committee members or those supporting groups or organisations with strategic planning issues. It will give a thorough introduction to the benefits of business planning and how to go about it in your organisation. The course is appropriate to both larger and smaller groups and organisations.

- CAF Awareness: Karen Watson
- The Children Act 2004 was introduced to ensure that all children achieved the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes. Crucial to this is identifying their needs early on and the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is the tool to use. Every practitioner should be able to recognise and respond to key signs of need and know how to have a CAF completed. Every organisation offering services to children and their families should ensure at least some of its staff are equipped to complete CAFs.

- Basic Financial Management for Small Organisations: Chris Hickey
- This half day course is for paid staff or management committee members/trustees of small organisations. It will help you to understand how to manage your funds well, what is required of your organisation and what the committee or board need to be aware of. No previous experience required.

- Managing and Supporting Volunteers: Gina Butler
- This course will show participants how to create a ‘win-win’ environment by investing in getting the best out of your volunteers.

- Conflict Resolution: Christine Stockwell
- Conflict occurs when people have different needs, opinions and approaches to a situation. The outcome of such situations will depend on how these differences are handled. This course will enable participants to recognise these situations and take steps to resolve the conflict at an early stage, preventing the conflict escalating and avoiding consequent damage to relationships.

- Practical Tools For Helping Groups Work Together (a two-day course): Camilla Hale
- This course is for you if you are working with voluntary sector groups and supporting them to collaborate, you are a Local Authority development worker, you work for a Voluntary and Community Sector infrastructure organisation and are focussing on collaboration.
All participants will receive a training pack of materials and web based information collated by bassac. This course is part of a cascade of training across the country to ensure best practice in collaboration.
