GAVCA is a local support and development charity that works to strengthen local voluntary and community action in Gloucestershire through:

Our Vision is one of strong communities, with an independent, flexible, responsive and sustainable voluntary and community sector at their heart. We believe that, where the local voluntary and community sector thrives, people feel a greater sense of community and can exercise more control over their own lives.

GAVCA is a registered charity (no. 1068715) and a company limited by guarantee (no. 3501904) and is governed by an Executive Committee, the members of which are both trustees of the charity and directors of the company. Most members of the Executive Committee are elected from the membership of over 250 voluntary and community groups.

GAVCA is a full member of NAVCA, our national umbrella body and have been awarded the NAVCA Quality Mark which shows that we have achieved demonstrable outcomes in all areas of our work.

GAVCA is also a member of Volunteering England and has achieved VE Accreditation for our quality Volunteering services.
